#R1##TD# McGregor shoots in and bounces Tanlagu off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.#ES2# Tanlagu manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Tanlagu looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Tanlagu looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. McGregor holding his opponent close, against the cage.
#BC# McGregor breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
#TD# Tanlagu tries to sprawl but McGregor drives through with a takedown into half guard. Tanlagu tries to push off, looking to stand up, but McGregor manages to move to mount!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The referee warns Tanlagu that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
McGregor takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.#SUB# McGregor has control of Tanlagu's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Tanlagu regains control of the situation pretty easily.
#T1# McGregor lands a big shot there that rocks Tanlagu but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
#ROC# Tanlagu is rocked!#SUB# McGregor working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Tanlagu turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips McGregor off and cradles Tanlagu's limp body as McGregor celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Conor McGregor! Conor McGregor decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. In defeat, David Tanlagu stepped up to the mic, saying 'Don't Worry Bro, Im Gonna Win Bro'.
