Ryan throws a wild hook but McDonough just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Ryan gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - McDonough raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ryan wants to control but Mcleod passes easily into half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#T1# The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ryan looks winded! Ryan tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Schmidt darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Schmidt ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Ryan is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Schmidt. Ryan on the wrong end of a nice jab. Ryan has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Ryan there as he acknowledges the shot. This has been an exciting period of action! Schmidt digs a good body shot into Ryan's ribs. Schmidt closes the distance and lands a one-two. Schmidt works Ryan's body with a nice hook. Ryan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Ryan jabs Robinson to the body, keeping him at a distance. Ryan shoots and misses and Robinson counters with a two punch combo. Scott Robinson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matthew Ryan. Robinson throws a head kick that Ryan semi-blocks.
