Palms shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Yamanaka pinned against the cage. Yamanaka gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Palms bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Yamanaka fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Palms wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Yamanaka explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Palms shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Yamanaka sprawls well. Yamanaka wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Palms gets slowly back to his feet.

Palms shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Yamanaka is trying to defend but Palms finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Palms is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Yamanaka can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Palms working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Yamanaka turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Palms off and cradles Yamanaka's limp body as Palms celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Heron Palms!
