Diaz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Aliev is refusing to be controlled, as Diaz sits in half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Aliev is controlling Diaz's position as best he can from this difficult position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diaz keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Aliev gets full guard.#T1# Aliev throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Monroe rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Diaz moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Diaz is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Nate Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#TD2# Diaz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Monroe was covering up waiting for the punch and Diaz finishes the takedown easily into guard. #ES# Monroe pushes Diaz off and gets back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!#TD2# Diaz looking to score a takedown here. Monroe is defending well but Diaz drives through and ends up in Monroe's guard. Monroe is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Diaz is controlling him well. Diaz stacks Dyer on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Diaz! Dyer is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Diaz is one step ahead and moves to full mount! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
