The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Komamura works a leg free and moves into half guard. Komamura thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Crux trying to control but Komamura postures up.
Komamura has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Komamura is taking a breather. Crux says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Crux wants to get back to his feet.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Komamura lands a good shot there. Crux covers up! Komamura smells blood and goes for the finish - the referee warns Crux to improve his position but he's not intelligently defending himself and the referee has no choice but to step in and end the fight! Komamura jumps to his feet and celebrates the important win with his cornermen!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Chappie. Chappie throws a head kick that misses. Chappie misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Chappie tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Crux shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Chappie eats them both and turns towards Crux to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.#CUT2# It looks like Rob Chappie has been cut. Chappie takes a body punch but keeps moving. Crux tests Chappie's chin there with a solid looking shot. Chappie fails with a takedown attempt. Chappie fails in his attempt to clinch. #CL2# Crux clinches with his opponent.

Mode tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Crux paws at him with a jab and circles away. Crux connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Mode's coach down at Cozad MMA Los Angeles was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Mode's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Crux fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Mode takes a shot right to the bread basket. Mode stuffs the takedown. Crux slaps away a takedown attempt from Mode, before circling back to the center of the mat. Crux keeps the fight on the outside. Mode shoots in looking for a takedown but Crux manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mode's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Mode shoots in for a double leg but Crux sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Crux fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mode looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Crux throws a right hand that Mode ducks under and follows up with a left that Mode also avoids with ease.
