Borisov tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Whitney tries to clinch #TD2# and Borisov counters with a shoot takedown. Whitney fights it but they end up in guard. Borisov prevents Whitney from getting back to his feet. Whitney really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Whitney working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Borisov. Whitney knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Borisov on the ground. Borisov trying to control but Whitney is working from the bottom. Ansonov shoots and misses #CL# and Whitney holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Ansonov is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Whitney is defending well. Ansonov has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Whitney after a bit of a struggle. Will Whitney has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Elia Ansonov. Whitney putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Ansonov in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.#TD# Whitney pulls Ansonov into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Whitney pulls Ansonov in close to his closed guard and prevents Ansonov from doing any damage or advancing position. Ansonov trying to control but Whitney is working from the bottom.
