#R1##CL# Gerrioga gets in close and instigates a clinch. Gerrioga blocks a body shot from Pao. Pao trying to stall but Gerrioga improves his position.
#TD# Gerrioga ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gerrioga no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Pao throws a big right hand that misses. Gerrioga is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Gerrioga controlling the position. Gerrioga working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pao. Pao is looking to work some ground and pound but Gerrioga has wrist control. Gerrioga knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pao on the ground.#SUB2# Pao drops back for a leg! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gerrioga avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Gerrioga keeping moving, preventing Pao from controlling successfully. Pao pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gerrioga is keeping the position for now. #T2# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gerrioga is trying to control the position but Pao postures up. #REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Pao stuffs the takedown attempt from Gerrioga. Gerrioga gets slowly back to his feet. #TD2# Pao throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gerrioga was covering up waiting for the punch and Pao finishes the takedown easily into guard. #ES# Gerrioga is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Pao presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. #BC# Gerrioga breaks from the clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gerrioga is defended easily by Pao.#T3# Gerrioga looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Loinel Gerrioga. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pao wants to clinch. As Pao looks to move away, Gerrioga throws a big counter combo but Pao just gets out of the way. Pao tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gerrioga paws at him with a jab and circles away. Gerrioga appears to be looking for a big counter. Gerrioga misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Gerrioga tries to clinch up but Pao circles away and keeps his distance. Pao shapes to counter with a head kick.#T4# The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.#CL# The fight moves into the clinch position. Pao can't find room to land a body shot as Gerrioga controls the action.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Gerrioga jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pao walks away with a smile on his face. Gerrioga gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Gerrioga darts in looking for a takedown but Pao gets double underhooks and turns Gerrioga into the cage. Gerrioga is breathing heavily. Pao displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gerrioga. #TD2# Pao looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Gerrioga! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.#SU2# Pao has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Igor Pao will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. #R2# Gerrioga avoids the head kick by Pao.

Gerrioga throws a sloppy head kick and Pao moves out of range easily. Pao steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.#CL# Gerrioga clinches up with Pao and pushes him back against the cage. Gerrioga blocking some punches.
Pao looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Gerrioga using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Pao has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Gerrioga drops down looking for an ankle pick but Pao pulls his leg out and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pao checks the leg kick. Pao appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.#TD2# Pao closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Pao throwing shots but Gerrioga is blocking nicely. #T1##SUB2# Pao is looking for a kimura here.
