#R1##CL2# Elf clinches up against the cage. Diaz fails to pull guard.
#BC# Diaz breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Elf dives in and grabs Diaz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Diaz pushes down on Elf's head and hops out. Diaz throws a big counter combination but Elf scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.#CL2# Elf closes the distance and pushes Diaz back into the cage.#BC2# Elf breaks from the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Diaz. Elf tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Diaz swivels and escapes. Diaz shoots in but Elf avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ty Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Elf misses with the combination.
Elf takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Elf drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Diaz defends it well. Buddy Elf seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Diaz shoots for a double leg takedown but Elf sprawls well. He's pushed Diaz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. #CL# Diaz closes the distance and clinches.#T1##TD2# Elf is trying to trip Diaz. He has hold of a leg but Diaz is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Elf persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Diaz tries to land a sweep but no joy. #SUB# Diaz looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Diaz keeping moving, preventing Elf from controlling successfully. Elf lands a couple of digs. Diaz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Diaz might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.#ES# Diaz pushes Elf off and scrambles back to his feet.
#CL2# Elf drives through and clinches with Diaz against the cage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Elf wants to control from the top but Diaz keeps moving. #SUB# Diaz looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Elf stands up over Diaz, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Elf is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. #SUB# Diaz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Elf doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Elf manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Diaz is breathing heavily. Elf lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Elf with a flurry of punches that miss. #T3# Elf throws a big elbow that misses. Elf throws a big right hand that misses. Elf scores with a decent looking elbow strike.#SUB# Diaz has his foot on Elf's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Elf works his way back into a safe position though. Elf wants to pass the guard but Diaz is keeping the position. Diaz tries to strike from the bottom.
Elf distracts Diaz with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Elf tries to free his leg and advance position but Diaz is retaining full guard. Elf makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Diaz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Elf works over Diaz with some ground and pound from guard.#ROC2# Diaz is rocked!#T4# Elf postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Diaz covers up, he's hurt! Elf keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Elf and the ref steps in to end the fight! Elf can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
