West misses with a short punch on the inside. West has Ryan pushed against the cage. West tries to land knees in the clinch but Ryan avoids the damage to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ryan slows down the pace here.
Still in the clinch, West scores with a nice short uppercut.#T1##BC# Ryan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Ryan takes a swing at West's ribcage but misses. #TD# West tries to sprawl but Ryan drives through with a takedown into half guard. West punching from the bottom.

and Ryan counters with a stiff right hand. Ryan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. West swings for the body but Ryan moves out of range.
Ryan attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. West wants to counter the offense by Ryan and move into the clinch position. West connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Ryan avoids a kick to the body.

West's coach down at Quick Fingers BEST BANG FOR BUCK Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on West's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.#CL2# West rushes Ryan and presses him up against the cage.#T2# West lands a good knee to the midsection. Ryan won't want to take too many of those. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ryan taking a breather. West lands a left hand.

West gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Ryan. Ryan closes this distance looking for a takedown but West circles away. Ryan sets himself, and West steps forward looking for the clinch! Ryan avoids it this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ryan misses with a two punch combination.
West throws out a counter right but Ryan avoids it with no problem. West scores with a nice head shot. Ryan takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as West walks away with a smile on his face. Ryan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. West lands with a kick to the temple. Ryan shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" No joy there for Ryan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Ryan was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Ryan fails with a takedown attempt from distance. This has been an exciting period of action! West slips a jab and a cross from Ryan.
A head kick by West misses and Ryan makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Ryan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.#T3# West cracks Ryan with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. A looping hook to the body misses from Ryan. West does a little dance to reset his feet. West has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.#CL2# West pushes Ryan up against the cage in a clinch. West throws a punch but it's blocked by Ryan. #BC2# West manages to break the clinch.

As West tries to get set, Ryan tries to push him back and clinch up but West manages to avoid the attempt. Ryan fails with an attempt to clinch.

West throws a sloppy head kick and Ryan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. West tries for a takedown but Ryan circles away easily and Ryan counters with a lovely shot to the body. Ryan takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

#SU# Ryan decides to return to a standing position. Evan West seems to be getting the better of the standup. West doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ryan counters with a lovely shot to the body.#T3# West's corner calls for a 1-2. West obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. #TD# Ryan shoots in for a takedown and gets it.#SU# Ryan decides to return to a standing position. West cracks Ryan with a good jab. Ryan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and West has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Ryan dives in and grabs West's left leg, looking for a takedown. West pushes down on Ryan's head and hops out. West goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Ryan shoots in and drives through. West sprawls well.#T4# West thuds his shin into the meat of Ryan's side. This has been an exciting period of action!#CL2# Ryan tries to keep at a distance but West has taken the fight into the clinch. West tries to break free but Ryan pushes him back against the cage. Evan West seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Ryan controlling the action here for a moment.

#R1##TD# Nelson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches West napping and manages to drive through into side control! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. West tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nelson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. #SUB# Nelson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Nelson controlling the position from side mount. Nelson scoring with punches from side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Nelson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. West is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.#T1# The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.#SUB# Nelson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, West has escaped the position, nice work there. Nelson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt West will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.#SUB# Nelson is trying to land an Americana. Nelson is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. West can't do much from the bottom here. West seems a little lost for a moment, as Nelson dominates the positioning. Nelson lands some shots froms side control. A bit of a lull in the action. West tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Torres swivels and escapes. Torres really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.#CL2# Torres tries to keep at a distance but West has taken the fight into the clinch. Torres with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

#R1# Brown tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but West defends well and Brown ends up having to push West into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Brown looks to score with a jab to the body but West is just out of range. Brown shoots in but no luck this time. And West responds with a good body kick, but Brown manages to step out the way in time.#TD# Brown bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Brown looks up at the clock and then as West takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Brown smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. West can't do much from the bottom here. Brown postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Brown lands a decent elbow from side control. The strikes coming from Brown are missing the target in this wave of attacks. West takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.#ES2# West explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! West throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Brown sees it coming and avoids it easily.
