Poorly manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A little feinted left hand from Poorly on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Poorly throws out a loose jab but Project uses good head movement to avoid it. Project steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Poorly. Project tries a head kick but it misses.
Poorly lands a jab-cross combination. #CUT# It looks like Convicted Project has been cut.#TD2# Project manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Poorly on his heels. We've been told by Smeg's head coaches at Komplete MMA Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Smeg with a body punch. A glancing blow. #R1# Gozu takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Poorly tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Gozu tries to counter by clinching up but Poorly breaks away and moves out of range. Poorly tries a head kick but it misses.

Poorly moves to clinch but Gozu breaks away #TD# and Gozu counters with a nice double leg into side control. Poorly won't be happy with that. #SU# Gozu stands up and beckons Poorly to his feet. Gozu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
