It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and English defends it well. Ortiz lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. English is looking to control Ortiz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can English avoid being mounted? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. English is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.#T1# English is not content to let Ortiz control the position. Ortiz wants to free his trapped foot but English is holding on for dear life with his legs. English is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ortiz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ortiz's back! Ortiz wants to escape the position.

#R1# Whyte throws a hook to the side of English's head but English sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Whyte lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and English has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from English and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Whyte scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Whyte throws a head kick that misses. #CL2# Whyte darts in and clinches English up against the cage.#TD2# Whyte pulls guard effortlessly. #SUB2# Whyte looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Grietje really doesn't want to stay on the ground with English. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. English seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. English has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Grietje must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. English wants to sweep but no luck. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Grietje being controlled here momentarily. English lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.#REVR##T1# English is standing up over Grietje. Grietje looks to escape but English dives into side control.
