#R1# Lange cracks a nice hook into Yamada's ribs. Lange thumps Yamada with a low kick. Lange lunges at Yamada with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Yamada's hand. Lange looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Nice shot by Lange. Yamada has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Yamada takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Yamada throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lange's waist but Lange gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Yamada off to one side. Yamada looks winded! Yamada on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Lange. Lange obviously looking to wear him down.
A slapping leg kick lands for Lange.
That kick from Lange tenderised Yamada's leg. Yamada is trying to keep his angry face on. Lange connects with the punch. This has been an exciting period of action! Lange digs a good body shot into Yamada's ribs. Lange getting the better of the striking in that exchange.#ROC# Yamada is rocked! Lange throws a nice inside leg kick. Yamada is still on wobbly legs! Can Lange finish him? Lange throws a body shot but no joy. Yamada feints the counter takedown. Lange stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lange wants it to stay on the feet. Lange lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

#R1# Yamada shoots in and drives through. Ki sprawls well. Yamada looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Yamada shoots in for a takedown but Ki shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ki tries to counter by closing the distance. Ki connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.#TD2# Ki throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Yamada was covering up waiting for the punch and Ki finishes the takedown easily into guard. Ki wants to control from the top but Yamada keeps moving. Ki is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ki not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Ki trying to control the position from guard on top but Yamada is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. #T1# Yamada can't keep his opponent in guard - Ki advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Ki is looking to advance position but Yamada won't allow it. Ki not doing much here.
We've been hearing good reports from Yamada's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Yamada is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. #T2# Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ki wants to lay and pray for a moment but Yamada keeps working. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.#SUB2# Ki looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Yamada has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Stout is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Yamada tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Stout just stands there and leans against the ropes. Yamada drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Stout gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Isamu Yamada. That's going to take a lot out of him. Yamada changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Stout fights it off and pushes away nicely.
#TD2# Stout looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Yamada! Yamada is looking to get back to his feet here but Stout is keeping cool and he's managed to take Yamada's back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alvarez pivots, looking for a leg kick but Yamada is out of range and Alvarez settles back down. Yamada tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Yamada closes this distance looking for a takedown but Alvarez circles away. Alvarez lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Alvarez throws a head kick but Yamada moves out of range.
