#R1# Good shot there by Jonson. Jonson throws a hook but Santiago avoids it easily. Santiago is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Santiago blocks a jab.#TD2# Santiago shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Santiago showed some decent athleticism there. Santiago is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Jonson reverses the position - he's now on top in Santiago's guard. #SUB2# Santiago looking for subs off his back but Jonson has passed one foot through into half guard.
Jonson wants to control but Santiago is keeping him busy. #T1# The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jonson connects with a nice short shot to Santiago's temple. Santiago gets back to full guard.
#SUB2# Santiago throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Jonson escapes and throws Santiago's legs to the side, diving into side control! #SUB# Jonson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Santiago is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Jonson grinds an elbow into Santiago's temple. Jonson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.#T2# Santiago is looking for a sweep. Jonson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Santiago down.

Santiago has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Jonson is really squeezing tight and eventually Santiago passes out! Jonson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

#R1# Jonson lands with an uppercut that bounces Phillips off the cage and back into range. Jonson with a body punch. A glancing blow. Jonson catches Phillips with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jonson, as that shot connected.
Jonson scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.#TD# Phillips shoots in and gets a takedown into Jonson's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jonson throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Jonson throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Phillips might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Phillips content to stall in guard here. Phillips knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jonson on the ground. Phillips throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jonson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Phillips throws a big right hand that misses. Phillips postures up in Jonson's guard and throws a big left but Jonson blocks it. #T1# Phillips loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Jonson trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. #REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Jonson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Jonson avoids a punch combination nicely.
#TD# Phillips shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Phillips really is a fat lump. Phillips wants to take a breather but Jonson is having none of it. #ES2# Jonson has one foot on Phillips's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Phillips walks into a stiff left hand from Jonson. Phillips tries to clinch there but Jonson circles away.
#T2# Jonson connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!#TD# Phillips shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Jonson is looking to improve his position.
Jonson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.#SUB# Phillips has gone for a leg lock! Jonson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Phillips's guard.#REVB# Phillips keeping moving, preventing Jonson from controlling successfully. Jonson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.#T3##SUB# Phillips looking for a guillotine here but Jonson defends easily.
Phillips wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Jonson manages to pass to side control. Phillips keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. #T4# The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Jonson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Phillips is trying to control but Jonson passes into side control!
Phillips gets back to half guard. Jonson missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Phillips moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anthony Jonson dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! #R2# Jonson cracks Phillips with a good jab. Phillips walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Jonson paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Jonson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Jonson lands a head shot. Jonson scores with a nice right hand.
Jonson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Phillips takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Phillips throws a series of punches but Jonson avoids them all with ease. #TD# Jonson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Jonson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Phillips is controlling him. Jonson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. #T1# Jonson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Phillips is one step ahead there. Phillips throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Buddy Phillips overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Phillips throws a big elbow that misses. Phillips trying to control but Jonson is working from the bottom. Jonson throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Jonson tries to strike from the bottom.
#REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Jonson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Jonson looks to land a combination but Phillips avoids it well. Buddy Phillips is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jonson scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.#T2# Jonson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Phillips has time to react.
