#R1# Somboon fails with an attempt to clinch.
Chalke attempts a counter takedown but Somboon avoids it well and moves away.#TD2# Somboon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Chalke's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Somboon working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Chalke has his hands on Somboon's head, controlling the position. Somboon trying to control but Chalke is working from the bottom. Somboon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Chalke controlling Somboon's posture. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chalke looking for a sweep. Not yet Chalke, not yet. #T1# Somboon pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Chalke is keeping the position for now. Chalke seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Somboon with a flurry of punches that miss. #REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.#TD# Chalke closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Chalke lands in his opponent's guard. Chalke postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Somboon working a defensive guard here.
Chalke is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. #T2# Chalke wants to control from the top but Somboon keeps moving. Chalke lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Somboon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chalke. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Chalke lands a couple of elbows. Chalke prevents Somboon from getting back to his feet. Chalke lands a couple of decent looking shots. Chalke trying to control but Somboon is working from the bottom. Somboon has momentary wrist control but Chalke slips an elbow through the middle. Chalke working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Somboon can do anything to dispel that myth. Chalke slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Chalke postures up and lands a big shot to Somboon's brow. #T3# Chalke's corner is telling him to maintain position.#SUB2# Somboon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chalke gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Somboon keeping moving, preventing Chalke from controlling successfully. Chalke with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Chalke postures up and lands a big shot to Somboon's brow. Chalke slips nicely into half guard. Chalke is figuring out what he wants to do next. Chalke passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Somboon! #T4# Chalke controlling from the full mount. Chalke pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Chalke has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Chalke lands a big shot there that rocks Somboon but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Somboon in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Chalke connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Chalke with a couple of short strikes. Chalke scoring with strikes but Somboon is staying in there. Chalke avoids the attempt from Somboon to control. Chalke tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cody Chalke dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! #R2##TD# Chalke shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Somboon is trying to defend but Chalke finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Chalke frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Chalke is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Somboon can do to turn this around? Chalke controlling the pace for now. Cody Chalke overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Somboon tries to reverse the position but Chalke maintains control. Chalke content just to control the position here. Somboon wants to control but Chalke is having none of it.#T1# Chalke landing shots from mount. Chalke lands a big elbow. Somboon is wriggling around trying to escape.
Chalke controlling the pace for now. Chalke cracks Somboon with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Chalke landing strikes, looking to finish! Chalke breaks from Somboon's wrist control and lands an elbow. Somboon is in a horrible position here. Chalke smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
#ROC# Somboon is rocked! Somboon is trying desperately to improve position.#T2# Chalke putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Chalke postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Somboon looks a forlorn figure.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Chalke cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Somboon seems to have recovered his senses. Chalke working the ground and pound effectively.

Chalke prevents Somboon from getting the reversal. Somboon is bucking up trying to escape but Chalke cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Somboon is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Chalke is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Somboon can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
#CUT# It looks like Arthit Somboon has been cut. Chalke postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Somboon out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Chalke goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Cody Chalke! Cody Chalke was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
