#R1# Day throws a right and a left that Svensson avoids nicely. Day throws a nice looking combination but Svensson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Day throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Svensson is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Day misses with a series of wild punches.
#CL# Svensson tries to keep at a distance but Day has taken the fight into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Day throws a hook to the body. #R1# Day cracks Tikka with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.#CUT2# It looks like Lauri Tikka has been cut. Day rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tikka moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Tikka drops down looking for a counter takedown but Day sprawls and moves away. Tikka takes one on the button.#KD2# Day feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Tikka sprawling to the canvas! Tikka rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Day finish him?!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Day connects with a superb combination that knocks Tikka out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Day before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Tikka!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Lucky Day! Lauri Tikka was interviewed post fight and said 'This was the way it is. Things will never be the same. Next time is my time.'.
