Howard is defending well but Jones drives through and ends up in Howard's guard.#ES# Howard has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Jones has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Howard trying to land knees to the body.
#TD# Howard manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Jones being controlled here momentarily. Jones seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Jones wants to control from the top but Howard keeps moving. #T1# Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Howard swivels though and keeps the full guard. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well.#T2# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Howard could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Jones wants to take a breather but Howard is having none of it. Howard is trying to maintain the position but Jones is very close to passing his half guard. Jones perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Jones is thwarting Howard's attempts to control the position. Howard tries to kick Jones off in order to stand up. Jones Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.#SU2# Jones stands up and beckons Howard to his feet. #TD2# Jones decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Jesuit Jones dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. #R2# Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Jones! Howard is out on his feet! Jones rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Howard is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Howard is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
