Thornton takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.#CL2# Thornton moves into the clinch. A short right hand to the side of the head by Thornton. A quick uppercut on the inside from Stanley. Thornton can't get the takedown.
Stanley drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thornton fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Stanley.#CL2# Stanley gets tackled into the cage by Thornton. Thornton maintains the clinch. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Stanley just misses with a elbow thrown towards Thornton's brow. Stanley looks to throw an elbow but misses. #T1##BC2# Thornton pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.#CL2# Thornton has managed to clinch.

#TD2# Stanley gets caught napping as Thornton dives in and scores a takedown. Stanley manages to retain guard.#SUB# Stanley is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Thornton defends well. Thornton tries to free his leg and advance position but Stanley is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thornton throws a big elbow that misses. #T2# Thornton is stalling in the full guard. #SU2# Thornton gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Thornton fails with a takedown attempt. Landon Stanley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Thornton. Thornton misses with the body kick and Stanley counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. #CL2# Thornton clinches. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.#TD2# Thornton manages to pull guard.

Stanley landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T4# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Thornton moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Thornton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Stanley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Thornton is striking but Stanley is not phased and passes to half guard. Thornton punching from the bottom.

#CL2# Thornton forces Stanley back against the cage and clinches. Thornton avoids a wild elbow strike from Stanley. Stanley with an attempt at a knee that misses.
#BC2# Thornton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Thornton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stanley tries to avoid it but Thornton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stanley to the ground. Stanley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. #T2# Thornton tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stanley swivels and escapes. Landon Stanley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Thornton. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Thornton. Stanley throws a big counter combination but Thornton scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Thornton tries for a takedown but Stanley sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Thornton is breathing heavily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stanley is defended easily by Thornton. Thornton wants to counter with a clinch but Stanley pushes him away.#TD# Stanley closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Thornton to the mat! Thornton manages to get full guard. Thornton wants to get back to his feet but Stanley passes into half guard.
#T3##REVB# Thornton wants to control but Stanley is keeping busy and won't allow it. Thornton is trying to get back to full guard. Stanley is thwarting Thornton's attempts to control the position. Stanley thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. #T4# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Thornton keeping control of the position. Thornton tries to get to full guard but Stanley has control of the leg. Thornton is doing well to control the position and prevent Stanley from advancing to side control.#ES2# Thornton has one foot on Stanley's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!#CL2# Thornton gets a clinch. James Thornton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round! #R3# Thornton tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Stanley defends well and Thornton ends up having to push Stanley into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Thornton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stanley's waist but Stanley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thornton off to one side. #CL2# Thornton moves into the clinch. Stanley looking for a takedown. Stanley is trying to drag Thornton to the mat but Thornton just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Stanley tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Thornton smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Landon Stanley. That's going to take a lot out of him. A decent looking cross lands there for Thornton. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thornton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stanley but Stanley pushes him off and we're back to square one.#T1# Thornton shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stanley as he jumps to the side. Thornton stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Thornton wants it to stay on the feet.#CL2# Thornton moves into the clinch. Thornton fails to pull guard.
Thornton tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Stanley just stands there and leans against the cage. Thornton takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.#TD2# Thornton pulls guard successfully.
Thornton utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Stanley throws a big right hand that misses. #SUB2# Thornton has his foot on Stanley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stanley works his way back into a safe position though.#T2# Stanley is in close to Thornton's body, working some short punches and elbows. Thornton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.#SUB2# Thornton looking for subs off his back but Stanley has passed one foot through into half guard.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Stanley seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Stanley throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. #REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Thornton tries to land a body kick and Stanley counters with a straight right hand.#TD# Stanley throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Thornton was covering up waiting for the punch and Stanley finishes the takedown easily into guard. Thornton wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Stanley manages to pass to side control. #REVB##SUB# Stanley looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
#T4# Thornton throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Stanley manages to pass to side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Landon Stanley showed his dominance in that final round. I think Thornton has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
