Nerlinger dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Nerlinger working the head and body with strikes. #SUB# Nerlinger seems to be working for a kimura but Berget defends the submission attempt. Nerlinger gets slowly back to his feet. Darko has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Nerlinger throws a body punch but Darko moves out of range. It looked like Darko wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Darko bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Nerlinger's head backwards. Darko slips a jab from Nerlinger. Jab from Nerlinger. Darko connects with a body shot that sends Nerlinger's belly button to the back. Nerlinger throws a hook but Darko blocks it.#CL# Darko closes the distance and clinches. That was a close second round but I would say that Momochi Hanzo will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Nerlinger must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Nerlinger lands a couple of elbows. Nerlinger in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Darko seems keen to control Nerlinger's posture. Nerlinger is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Darko keeping full guard, as Nerlinger tries to pass. Darko not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Nerlinger shoots in for a takedown but Matasaki shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Nerlinger throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Matasaki throws a right and a left that both miss. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Nerlinger! Trump has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.#CL# Nerlinger darts in and clinches Trump up against the cage. Nerlinger throws a head punch that misses. Trump swings wildly with an uppercut but Nerlinger uses good head movement to avoid it. Nerlinger tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Nerlinger goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nerlinger swings away with an uppercut that misses.
