#R1##TD# Lynch feints and as Garrett raises his hands in defense, Lynch changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Lynch engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Lynch is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Garrett keeping moving, preventing Lynch from controlling successfully. Lynch slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Garrett is trying to control Lynch's posture but Lynch avoids it. #SU# Lynch has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#TD# Lynch closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Garrett to the mat! Garrett manages to get full guard. Lynch is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.#T1##SUB2# Garrett looking for a guillotine here but Lynch defends easily.

Lynch trying to control the position from guard on top but Garrett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Garrett is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVB# Lynch keeping hold of Garrett's head, controlling as best he can. Garrett passes into side control, despite Lynch's attempt to control the position.

Garrett might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lynch haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Lynch is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Garrett has just dragged him back down to the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T3# Lynch is trying to get back to half guard. You can see the frustration on Lynch's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Garrett wants to control but Lynch is keeping him busy. Lynch is trying to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Gary Lynch will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! #R2##TD# Lynch gets a takedown into half guard. Lynch is just content to waste time from the top position. Garrett takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. #SUB2# Garrett has his foot on Lynch's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lynch doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lynch manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Gary Lynch overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.#SUB2# Garrett looking for submissions from the bottom here. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Lynch rolls with it to try and escape but Garrett cranks on the arm and Lynch is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
