Michael throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Michael trying to control but Patterson is working from the bottom. Michael prevents Patterson from getting back to his feet. Patterson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Michael trying to control but Patterson is working from the bottom. Michael trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Michael wants to control from the top but Patterson keeps moving. Michael stays in close to Patterson's body and controls the position. #REF3# The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.#T1##CL2# Michael moves into the clinch. Michael gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Patterson.
#TD2# Patterson is fighting off a takedown attempt but Michael is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Patterson to the mat. Patterson regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Patterson wants to sweep here but Michael controlling him for the moment. Michael pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Patterson is keeping the position for now. Michael looking to control the position here, rather than advance. #T2# Michael would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Patterson keeping moving, preventing Michael from controlling successfully. Patterson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Michael. Patterson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Michael is controlling him. #T4# Michael trying to control the position from guard on top but Patterson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. #REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.#CL2# Michael gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Patterson pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. A right hook to the body lands for Michael.
#TD2# Michael ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Michael no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Patterson preventing the sweep. Michael has momentary wrist control but Patterson slips an elbow through the middle. Michael striking off his back but it's not causing Patterson any problems. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael is just content to waste time from the top position. Patterson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Patterson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Michael is controlling him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Patterson trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.#T1# Michael works over Patterson with some ground and pound from guard. Patterson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. It's a sloppy attempt though and Patterson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Michael looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Michael is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Michael manages to kick Patterson off! Patterson jumps back into Michael's guard. Michael really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Patterson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Michael is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. #SUB2# Michael escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Patterson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. #REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Michael is breathing heavily.#TD2# Michael shoots in and bounces Patterson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.#T3# Michael trying to control the position from guard on top but Patterson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Patterson wants to stand but Michael is controlling the position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Patterson is on top in guard.
#REVR##T4# The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Michael is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Michael is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Patterson wants to get up but he can't break Michael's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. #SU# Patterson stands up and waves to Michael to follow him. #CL# Patterson clinches up with Michael and pushes him back against the cage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Patterson managing to block the knees to the body from Michael.

That was a close second round but I would say that Hubert Patterson will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Michael is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Patterson is controlling him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Patterson is looking to escape. The fighters are battling for position here. Patterson manages to regain full guard. Nice work. #ES# Patterson has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Michael has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.#TD# Patterson has hold of one of Michael's legs. Michael is fighting the takedown attempt but Patterson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Patterson wanted to stand there but Michael had control of the position. Patterson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Michael's guard. #SU# Patterson gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hubert Patterson. I think Patterson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
