#R1##TD2# Clark feints and as Lowery raises his hands in defense, Clark changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Clark wants to control from the top but Lowery keeps moving. Lowery is trying to keep Clark in close.
Clark trying to control the position from guard on top but Lowery is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. #SUB2# Clark thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. #SU2# Clark gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Derek Clark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lowery dives in for a single leg takedown but Clark sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clark fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Lowery on the side of the head. Lowery walks straight into a right hand from Clark - that's dropped him! Clark jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Lowery from any more punishment! Lowery complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Derek Clark!
