Laston has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Valens is landing a low percentage of strikes.#TD# Valens looking for a takedown here - he's got it.#SUB# Valens drops back looking for a leg! Laston is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Laston manages to kick Valens off! Valens jumps back into Laston's guard. Valens stays in close to Laston's body and controls the position. Valens won't allow Laston to get back to his feet. #ES2# Laston kicks Valens off and gets to his feet. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!#TD# Valens drives through with a takedown into guard. Laston keeping full guard, as Valens tries to pass. Valens is pushing down on Laston's leg trying to pass to half guard. Laston is fighting to maintain full guard but Valens has managed to sneak the leg through. Valens could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.#T1# Laston is trying to stand up here but Valens is controlling him well. Valens is looking to take a break and control but Laston is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Valens is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Laston is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Laston is trying to stand back up but Valens is controlling him
Valens throwing shots but Laston is blocking nicely. Valens slips a nice elbow through Laston's hands, connecting with Laston's forehead. Valens works his way into side control. Laston takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
#T2# Laston is not content to let Valens control the position. Laston is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Valens staying calm. Laston is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.#T3# Laston is trying to escape the position but Valens is controlling the position. Laston is trying to buck Valens off. Valens in side control lands a decent elbow. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Valens cracks Laston with a big elbow. The strikes coming from Valens are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Valens is looking to take a break and control but Laston is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Laston looks to land a left hand but Valens moved out of range nicely. Valens changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Left hook, right uppercut from Laston. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Mahone counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Austin Mahone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Laston moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Mahone throws a right hand that misses

Laston throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Mahone looks to score with a jab to the body but Laston is just out of range. Mahone throws out a powerful jab. Mahone looks to land a combination but Laston avoids it well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mahone tries to clinch but Laston is having none of it. Laston throws a counter combo. A shot to the liver by Mahone. Beautiful body shot. Jab by Mahone. Mahone throws a body punch but Laston moves out of range. Mahone throws a jab when Laston was well out of range. A slow jab from Laston misses its intended target. Mahone throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Laston throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mahone counters with a right hand to the body. #T1# Mahone swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A punch combination from Laston misses. Mahone lands with an overhand left. Mahone takes a swing at Laston's ribcage but misses. Mahone scores with a jab to the body. Mahone throws a looping overhand right but Laston ducks down to avoid it. Laston swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Laston throws a right hand that misses
and Mahone cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Mahone throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Laston on the side of the head. Mahone fails with an attempt to clinch.
A cross from Mahone lands. Laston throws a hook to the side of Mahone's head but Mahone sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Laston throws a series of punches but Mahone avoids them all with ease. Mahone throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Laston loads up on a big right hand but Mahone slips the punch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mahone looks to score with a jab to the body but Laston is just out of range.#T2# Mahone wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Laston falls off balance throwing a combination
and Mahone counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Laston has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Laston there as he acknowledges the shot.#ROC# Laston is rocked! Mahone is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Mahone is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Laston flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Laston is out cold! Mahone holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Austin Mahone! Austin Mahone decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.

#TD# and Acevedo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Acevedo. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Laston wants to stand but Acevedo is controlling the position. #SU# Acevedo stands up and waves to Laston to follow him. Laston throws a series of punches but Acevedo avoids them all with ease. Acevedo is looking for a counter combo. Laston fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Acevedo drops down looking for a counter takedown but Laston sprawls and moves away. Acevedo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Laston sprawls well. Laston wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Acevedo gets slowly back to his feet. Laston will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

#T1# Acevedo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Laston tries to avoid it but Acevedo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Laston to the ground. Laston escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Laston throws out a counter right but Acevedo avoids it with no problem. Laston swinging wildly here.
Laston throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Acevedo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Laston. Laston avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Will he get it? Laston is fending him off so far but Acevedo persists. Nope, Laston circles away and we're back to standing. As Acevedo backs off Laston throws a huge counter combo but Acevedo manages to avoid it all. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bernard Acevedo. That's going to take a lot out of him. A telegraphed right hand from Laston misses the target. Acevedo drops down looking for a counter takedown but Laston sprawls and moves away. Laston fails to land with a series of punches.

Acevedo misses with a takedown attempt - Laston sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.#T2# Acevedo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Laston avoids it really well and circles away. Laston throws a monster overhand right that drops Acevedo! Laston follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

#R1# Laston lands a jab.#CUT2# It looks like Cody Garza has been cut. Garza fails in his attempt to clinch. The fight stays on the outside here - Garza looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Laston fails to land with a series of punches.
Laston throws an overhand right that has Garza reeling! Laston follows up with more punches and Garza is out cold! This one is all over!
