McVitie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but James defends well and McVitie ends up having to push James into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
James looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

McVitie throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on James's jaw, knocking him onto his back! McVitie dives in looking to finish as James flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block McVitie's strikes! McVitie is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! James's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but James was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Nice sprawl there from Palmer as James shoots in.

James shoots for a takedown but Palmer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Palmer wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Palmer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Palmer is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Palmer gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Palmer gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Palmer apologises and we restart here on the feet.
