Ki seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Heart works his way back into a safe position though. Heart working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Ki's head. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Heart working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Kong seems keen to control Ki's posture. Ki sitting in guard here, content to control. Ki trying to control the position from guard on top but Kong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kong is trying to keep Ki in close.
We've been hearing good reports from Kong's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Ki trying to control but Kong is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kong seems keen to control Ki's posture. Ki trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kong is pulling down on Ki's head. Ki seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Kong is forced to tap and this one is over!

After the big win, Ao Ki made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors RAGS of a RONIN and telling the interviewer how much he loves him. Ki advances to half guard. Dewey is positioning himself well to prevent Ki advancing to mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Ki is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. A counter left hand to the body from Reigns misses its target. Reigns cracks Ki with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Reigns circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ki tries to clinch and Reigns connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Ki has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Reigns moves out of range of the body kick from Ki.

McLaughlin is looking to counter punch. McLaughlin's jab looks to have found its range, popping Ki under the eye. Ki shoots in for a takedown but McLaughlin shows good takedown defense. It looked like McLaughlin was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Ki.#KD# McLaughlin cracks Ki with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. McLaughlin has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Ki to stand back up!#ROC# Ki is rocked!#CUT# It looks like Ao Ki has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Yamada knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Yamada for a finish. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. But no, Yamada has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Alexei Erschov! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Ao Ki! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shirou Masuda and Ren Mimura.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Erschov clinches up with Ki and pushes him back against the cage. Ki stops a takedown attempt from Erschov.
