#R1# Lovejoy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Puma tries to clinch but Lovejoy is having none of it. Puma just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromLovejoy. Puma tries to clinch there but Lovejoy circles away.
Puma looks to land a combination but Lovejoy avoids it well. Lovejoy lands with a slapping head kick. Puma tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lovejoy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Puma somewhat. Puma fails in his attempt to clinch. #CL2# Puma forces Lovejoy back against the cage and clinches. Lovejoy looking to throw knees to the head but Puma is blocking nicely.
Puma lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Puma misses with a punch on the inside.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Puma scores with a shot to the side of Lovejoy's head. Puma tries to throw a body punch but Lovejoy avoids it by throwing Puma back against the cage. #T1# Puma lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Puma lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Puma managing to block the knees to the body from Lovejoy.
Lovejoy tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Puma's elbow. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Puma. Lovejoy prevents a body shot from Puma. Puma misses with a body punch.
Puma lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Lovejoy backwards. I was talking to Lovejoy's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Lovejoy trying to land knees to the body.
Lovejoy using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Puma has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Puma lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Lovejoy backwards. Lovejoy trying to land knees to the body.

Puma scores with a shot to the side of Lovejoy's head. Lovejoy misses with a knee strike.
Puma works on Lovejoy's body with a couple of short punches.#T2# Lovejoy misses with some punches.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Puma can't get the takedown.
#BC2# Puma pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Lovejoy misses with a head kick.
Puma missing with a left hand there. Lovejoy was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Puma throws a hook to the side of Lovejoy's head but Lovejoy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Lovejoy swats away the attempt to clinch by Puma. Puma moves in looking to clinch but Lovejoy pushes him off. Puma looks to score with a jab to the body but Lovejoy is just out of range.#TD# Lovejoy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Puma scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Lovejoy manages to mount him!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.#SUB# Lovejoy working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. #T3# Lovejoy putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Puma stops Lovejoy from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. #SUB# Puma is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Lovejoy locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Puma is forced to tap!
