#R1##TD2# Fry closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Norris's guard. Fry told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Fry looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Norris keeping busy, throwing shots from the bottom. Norris wants to stand up but Fry is controlling him. Fry must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Norris is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVR##SUB2# Fry looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Norris looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Fry with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Norris is controlling the pace.
#SUB# Norris is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Fry is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Nick Norris!
