Myres tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Huntter cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Shane Myres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Huntter lands with an overhand left. Myres fails to land the takedown. Myres has his takedown stuffed and Huntter counters with a lovely shot to the body. Pate Huntter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shane Myres. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Myres takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Myres tries to score a power double leg takedown but Huntter sees that one coming and sprawls well. Stoica drops down looking for a counter takedown but Myres sprawls and moves away. Stoica throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Myres sees it coming and avoids it easily.#TD2# Myres shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Stoica is trying to defend but Myres finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Toivonen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Myres is tightening it up a little... Toivonen has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Toivonen reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Toivonen taps out! Nice BJJ there by Myres!

Respect misses with a straight left. Myres fails with the takedown and Respect counters with a lovely shot to the body. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Myres is defended easily by Respect. Respect throws out a counter right but Myres avoids it with no problem. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shane Myres. That's going to take a lot out of him. Myres's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Respect connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Myres scrambles back to his feet.#CUT2# It looks like Shane Myres has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Respect lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Horrible takedown attempt by Myres or perhaps it was just good defense by Vargas, which made it look bad. It looked like Vargas was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Vargas seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
