#R1# Bresnan lunges at Domman with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Domman's hand. Domman moves away from the strike by Bresnan. Bresnan cracks Domman with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Sloppy strikes from Bresnan. Those never looked like landing. Domman slips a jab from Bresnan. And Domman tries to counter it with a takedown but Bresnan pushes his down on his head and steps out. Bresnan looks to score with a jab to the body but Domman is just out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bresnan misses the body punch #TD2# so Domman counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Bresnan is breathing heavily. Bresnan looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Bresnan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.#SUB2# Domman thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. #SUB2# Domman is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. #T1##SUB2# Domman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Domman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. #SUB2# Domman drops back looking for a leg! Bresnan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bresnan manages to kick Domman off! Domman jumps back into Bresnan's guard. Bresnan trying to control the position.

#R1# Pauwels misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pauwels has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Bresnan cracks Pauwels with an open hand slap. We've been hearing reports that Bresnan has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Bresnan misses with a looping left. Pauwels throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bresnan throws a body shot but no joy. Pauwels tries to counter by closing the distance. Pauwels ducks under a wild hook from Bresnan. Bresnan swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Bresnan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pauwels . Pauwels lands a nice looking body shot.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bresnan walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Pauwels lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bresnan circles away quickly and effectively. Nice shot by Pauwels . This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pauwels scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Pauwels takes a swing at Bresnan's ribcage but misses. #T1##CL2# Pauwels takes the fight into the clinch. Pauwels lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Bresnan backwards. Pauwels lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Bresnan to his knees! Pauwels keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

#R1# Skvardsonn lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Bresnan is looking to clinch. #KD# Skvardsonn cracks Bresnan with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Skvardsonn has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Bresnan to stand back up!#ROC# Bresnan is rocked! We've been told by Skvardsonn's head coaches at Mist Of Pandaria that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Skvardsonn steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Bresnan is out on his feet! Skvardsonn sets himself and nearly takes Bresnan's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Martin Skvardsonn! Martin Skvardsonn is the new light heavyweight champion! During a confident post fight interview, Martin Skvardsonn thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.

#TD# Ryan gets a takedown into half guard. Ryan is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Ryan throws a strike but Bresnan avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Ryan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Bresnan wants to stand but Ryan is controlling the position. Ryan landing with the ground and pound. Ryan is looking to work some ground and pound but Bresnan has wrist control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bresnan wants to sweep but no luck. Ryan distracts Bresnan with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Ryan working some strikes from top position. Bresnan trying to keep a closed guard but Ryan is proving a slippery customer.

Ryan works over Bresnan with some ground and pound from guard. Ryan scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Ryan lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ryan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bresnan works some decent striking defense from the bottom. #SUB2# Bresnan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ryan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Bresnan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ryan's guard. #REVB# Bresnan trying to control but Ryan is working from the bottom. Ryan trying to control the position.

#TD2# Bresnan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!#SUB2# Bresnan in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Ryan is tapping! Luke Bresnan seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website. The defeated Chip Ryan had this to say: 'Next time I'll come back, stronger, faster and better and show the world that Chip Ryan doesn't stay down'.
