We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!#TD# Mathis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Grubb looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.#SUB# Mathis has an Americana. Grubb didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Mathis is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Mathis hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

#R1# A clash of legs there as Mathis blocks the low kick. Bob scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.#CUT2# It looks like Jared Mathis has been cut. Bob throws a solid leg kick but Mathis takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Bob. Bob thuds a left hand into Mathis's body. Mathis has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Bob finds it's way round the side to connect with Mathis's head. Hungry Bob seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. and Bob counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Mathis! He's just covering up as Bob starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

#R1# A left and a right from Sunda both land. Nice combination. #CUT2# It looks like Jared Mathis has been cut.#CL2# Sunda clinches with his opponent.
Mathis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sunda walks away with a smile on his face. Mathis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Sunda tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Mathis shoots in for a double leg but Sunda sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.#TD2# Sunda decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Mathis pushes Sunda off but Sunda dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mathis throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sunda misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Mathis prevents Sunda from improving position. Mathis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mathis is looking to regain half guard here but Sunda keeps moving and retains side control. #T1# Sunda trying to control the action but Mathis is working from the bottom. Sunda misses with the ground and pound. Mathis is looking to reverse the position. Sunda lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Mathis down.

Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Sunda postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Sunda pulls Mathis in close to his closed guard and prevents Mathis from doing any damage or advancing position. Mathis is working Sunda over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mathis landing with the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sunda wants to get back to his feet but Mathis is dominant here and he's now got Sunda's back! The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Mathis's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Sunda felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Sunda covers up after that shot from Mathis.

Sommervile is looking to advance position but Mathis has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!#REVR# We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
