Diaz has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Diaz connects with a body shot. Penny throws a big shot that misses. Diaz swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. A big left from Diaz misses. Diaz dips to his left and cracks Penny with an uppercut! Penny waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Diaz. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diaz cracks Penny with a right hand to the side of the head. Diaz takes a swing at Penny's ribcage but misses. Penny is looking to counter punch. Penny tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Diaz was well out of range. Poor timing from Penny. Diaz dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Penny to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!

Mayhem has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Bi-Polar Asylum LV's #1 Public Training Center in the buildup to the fight.#TD# Mayhem changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Penny looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Mayhem throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Penny dodges the ground and pound from Mayhem. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The ground and pound from Mayhem seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Mayhem trying to control the action but Penny is working from the bottom. Mayhem postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Mayhem tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Mayhem trying to control the position but Penny is working away. Penny takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Mayhem creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Penny sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. #T1# Penny is not content to let Mayhem control the position. Mayhem in side control, throwing shots but Penny defends. Penny avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Mayhem. Mayhem trying to control the position but Penny is working away. Mayhem connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Penny some visible discomfort.
Mayhem lands a decent elbow from side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Penny parries the strikes from Mayhem easily there. Mayhem is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Penny to escape.

Penny displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wesson throws out the jab. Penny slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Wesson moves out of range as Penny strikes. Wesson moves away from the strike by Penny. Wesson swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Wesson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Wesson pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Penny rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wesson moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Wesson scores with a punch to the head. Wesson throws a nice head kick!

and Penny counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Wesson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.#CL2# Wesson clinches up against the cage. Penny lands with a short shot to the head. Wesson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Penny smiles and moves away.

That was a close round but I would say that Princess Penny will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Dean Wesson's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. #R2# Penny connects with the punch. Wesson is looking to clinch. The ref grabs Penny from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Wesson's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

St Cormier stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Penny is looking for the KO!#ROC2# St Cormier is rocked!#CUT2# It looks like Daniel St Cormier has been cut. St Cormier gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Penny points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. St Cormier wakes up just in time to hear Penny thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Princess Penny! A very excited looking Princess Penny made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction. In defeat, Daniel St Cormier stepped up to the mic, saying 'My opponent got the better of me. That sucks. Well fought! I'll be headed back to the gym, and back to the drawing board. '.

The fight stays on the outside here - Taran looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Penny's jab looks to have found its range, popping Taran under the eye. Penny definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Taran moves to clinch but Penny breaks away and Penny counters with a lovely straight right hand! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Taran just misses with a punch to the body.

Taran wants to clinch. A little feinted left hand from Penny on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. A head kick by Taran misses #KD# and Penny counters with a crisp right hand that drops Taran! Penny lets Taran back up to his feet, looking for a finish! Taran is still on wobbly legs! Can Penny finish him? Penny blocks the body kick.
Taran seems to have recovered his senses. Penny circles away from the clinch attempt and Penny counters with a huge left! Taran is in big trouble! He's backing up but Penny isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Taran from any more damage. A dominating finish by Penny!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Princess Penny! A relieved looking Princess Penny thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

#R1# Sparbot tries to clinch up but Penny circles away and keeps his distance. Penny is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Sparbot connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Penny misses with a hook. Sparbot throws a big counter combination but Penny scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Penny takes a shot right to the bread basket. Sparbot misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sparbot feints a jab promting Penny to slip. Sparbot then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Penny slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Sparbot throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Penny counters with a straight right hand. Sparbot stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Sparbot connects with a single shot there. Sparbot looks to score with a jab to the body but Penny is just out of range. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sparbot smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Penny scores with a jab to the head.

Penny dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Sparbot stiff and motionless on the mat!

A head kick by Baldwin misses and Penny makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Baldwin. Cote acknowledges it with a nod of the head. #CUT2# It looks like Jewel Cote has been cut. Cote could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Penny connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Cote out cold! This one is over in a flash!
