Coming up we have a middleweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Chan Fo and Russell Paulman. Paulman comes into a darkened arena with his song building. War is my Love kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Chan Fo! And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Russell Paulman! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Paulman tries for a takedown but Fo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Paulman shoots in but Fo avoids the takedown attempt easily. Fo tries to keep at a distance but Paulman has taken the fight into the clinch. Paulman jumps guard.

Paulman pulls Fo in close to his closed guard and prevents Fo from doing any damage or advancing position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. He's hooked one of Fo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Fo's back! Paulman really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Fo. Let's hope that Paulman has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Fo looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Paulman slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Paulman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Paulman holds on and takes a little breather. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Paulman. Paulman keeping moving, preventing Fo from controlling successfully. Paulman managing to control the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Paulman can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Yet more stalling tactics from Paulman. Fo is trying to get back to full guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Paulman in particular looking to stall. Paulman's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's six minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Paulman prevents Fo from improving his position. Paulman is looking to advance position but Fo won't allow it. Well, if Paulman is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Paulman is thwarting Fo's attempts to control the position. Paulman looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
