#R1# Myres misses with a series of wild punches.
Monstre tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Myres swivels and escapes. Myres slips under a jab. Myres smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Left hook, right uppercut from Myres. #CUT2# It looks like Le Monstre has been cut. Sloppy strikes from Myres. Those never looked like landing. Monstre closes the distance and clinches up with Myres, looking for a takedown. Monstre pushes Myres against the cage but Myres circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. A punch combination from Monstre misses. As Monstre backs off Myres throws a huge counter combo but Monstre manages to avoid it all. Myres lands with an overhand left. Monstre tries to clinch but fails miserably and Monstre takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Monstre looks to clinch and Myres counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Monstre to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Myres!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). James Myres! James Myres was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed. The defeated Le Monstre had this to say: 'C'est bullsheet.... c'est BULLSHEET!!!'.

#R1##CL2# Monstre gets in close and instigates a clinch. #BC# Hinton breaks from the clinch.
Monstre misses with a lunging right hand
and Hinton makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Monstre really felt that one!#CL2# Monstre clinches up with Hinton and pushes him back against the cage.#TD2# Monstre jumps guard and drags Hinton to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Hinton lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Monstre wants to sweep here but Hinton controlling him for the moment. #ES2# The fighters are working up against the cage. Monstre manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Monstre lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. #CUT2# It looks like Dominick Hinton has been cut. Hinton on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Hinton goes for a takedown attempt but Monstre pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
#TD2# Monstre scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hinton blocking the ground and pound attempt from Monstre. Monstre thows a huge punch but Hinton dodges it nicely.
#T1# Monstre missing with the ground and pound from half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Monstre controlling the action here. #SUB2# Monstre is working for a kimura but Hinton is defending it quite comfortably.
Hinton is trying to control but Monstre manages to pass to mount!
Monstre controlling from the full mount. #T2# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Monstre tries to control but Hinton wriggling away. Monstre with a couple of short strikes. Hinton is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. Hinton in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. #CUT2# Dominick Hinton's cut is getting worse. Monstre tries to control but Hinton wriggling away. Monstre loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Hinton scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Monstre land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Monstre stands and salutes the crowd.
