We've been told by Mistry's head coaches at Tayne's 4d3d3d3 Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Nice uppercut there from Mistry. Mistry looks to land a combination but Ward avoids it well. Ward ducks right into an uppercut from Mistry. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mistry lands a nice hook to Ward's body. Ward takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Mistry connects with a jab. Ward moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.#T1# Good shot there by Mistry. Ward takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Ward avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Mistry throws out a loose jab but Ward uses good head movement to avoid it. A little jabbing left from Ward on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. A swing and a miss from Mistry. Mistry misses with a two punch combination.

Mistry moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Ward ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. #R1# Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive. Bornay shoots in for a takedown but Ward shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#TD# Bornay drives through with a takedown into Ward's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.#SU# Bornay stands up from Ward's guard - Bornay perhaps looking for a knockout. #T1# Bornay shoots in but Ward avoids the takedown attempt easily. A little jabbing left from Ward on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Bornay shoots in but no luck this time. Ward let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lafon Bornay. That's going to take a lot out of him. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bornay can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Ward looking for a sweep.
