Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! #R1# Brown has his takedown stuffed and Minh counters with a head kick. That will keep Brown thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Brown throws a combination that misses and Minh counters with a one-two to the body. Brown throws an off balance right hand
and Minh counters with a straight right hand. Brown misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Minh is looking to counter the offense by Brown and move into the clinch. A combination from Brown does no damage. As Brown tries to get set, Minh tries to push him back and clinch up but Brown manages to avoid the attempt. Nice straight punches there by Brown. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Brown. Brown throws a low kick but Minh avoids it. Minh drops down looking for a counter takedown but Brown sprawls and moves away. Brown falls off balance throwing a combination
and Minh counters with a three punch combo that has Brown backing up. Brown nods at Minh to acknowledge the strikes. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Brown throws a combination that misses letting Minh counter with a right hand. Minh has been working on his balance at Tycoon Gym, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Brown. Brown misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Minh throws a counter high kick but Brown was just alert enough to avoid it. Barry Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brown looks winded! Brown waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Minh. Brown tries a head kick but it misses.

A low kick from Brown is predictable there and Minh counters with a three punch combo that has Brown backing up. Brown nods at Minh to acknowledge the strikes. That will keep Brown thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! #ROC# Brown is rocked! Nguyen Hoang Minh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Barry Brown. Brown misses with a wild combination.

#R1# Down shoots in looking for a takedown but Minh manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Down's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Despite the aggression on Minh's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Down throws a leg kick and Minh counters with a series of strikes. Down will be more careful next time no doubt. Down throws a right and a left that Minh avoids nicely. Down misses the body punch #CL2# and Minh counters by moving into the clinch. #BC# Down breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

We've been hearing good reports from Down's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Minh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Whitaker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Minh looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Minh shoots in but Davidson avoids the takedown attempt easily. Minh throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Minh shoots in looking for a takedown but Davidson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Minh's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.#CL# Davidson has taken the fight to the clinch.

Horrible takedown attempt by Minh or perhaps it was just good defense by Davidson, which made it look bad. Ethan Davidson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. #BC# Davidson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. #TD2# Minh shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Minh showed some decent athleticism there. Minh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Davidson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Davidson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Minh's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Minh's back! Minh looks winded! A bit of a pause in the action here. Davidson controlling the positon. Minh trying to control the action but Davidson just sinks the hooks in. Davidson really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Minh.#SUB# Minh fending off the submission attempt from Davidson. #T3# Davidson is riding his opponent, not letting Minh buck him off. Minh tries to roll but Davidson sticks to his back.

Wooten could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Minh wants to control but Wooten is keeping busy and won't allow it. Wooten seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Wooten trying to control the pace. Minh wants to control but Wooten is keeping busy.
