#R1# Soma moves in looking to clinch but Walter pushes him off. A shot to the body from Soma misses #CL# and Walter moves into the clinch. Walter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Soma tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Walter connects with a nasty looking knee right to Soma 's face.
Soma trying to stall but Walter improves his position.
Walter lands a body punch. Soma is trying to push Walter away but Walter has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Soma fails to pull guard.
Soma wants a takedown but no success here.
Landon Walter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Emanuel Soma .#TD# Walter pulls guard successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Walter looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Soma trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Walter is pulling down on Soma 's head to control his posture. Soma throwing strikes from guard but Walter blocks nicely. Walter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.#T1# Soma trying to control but Walter is working from the bottom. Soma must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Walter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Soma 's guard. #REVR# Walter connects with a couple of short punches. Soma is trying to hold Walter in close to prevent damage but Walter has managed to pass into half guard.
#SUB2# Soma with the active half guard here but Walter passes nicely into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Walter cracks Soma with an elbow. That is naaassty.#T2# A control attempt from Soma but he's now mounted! BOOM! Walter connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Soma wants to hold on but Walter pushes him away. Soma taking shots to the head. Walter fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
This has been an exciting period of action! Walter raining down shots from the mount!#ROC# Soma is rocked! Walter lands a big shot to the head and Soma winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!

#R1##TD2# Soma bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Spence wants to control but Soma postures up. Soma is looking to take a break and control but Spence is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. A bit of a lull in the action here. Spence struggling a bit here. Soma tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Spence struggling a bit here. This fight is sponsored by Chainsaw 7. More blood and guts and stuff like that, in cinemas everywhere now!#T1##SUB2# Soma is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Spence has escaped the position, nice work there. Spence can't do much from the bottom here. Spence really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Soma wants to control but Spence is keeping him busy. #REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.#TD2# Spence gets caught napping as Soma dives in and scores a takedown. Spence manages to retain guard.#T2# Soma trying to control the position from guard on top but Spence is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Soma must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Soma is fighting to break Spence's control of his arms but Spence is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Spence has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Soma trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Soma really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Spence. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Soma wants to stand but Spence is controlling his posture from full guard. Soma is looking to pass into half guard but Spence pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Spence is in guard.#REVR##T3# The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Soma working a defensive guard but Spence passes into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Spence lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Spence lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Soma is trying to get back to full guard. Spence is nestled in close to Soma , controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Spence scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Spence slips a nice elbow through Soma 's hands, connecting with Soma 's forehead.#T4# Spence is thwarting Soma 's attempts to control the position. Soma is trying to control but Spence passes into side control!
Soma trying to control but Spence flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!#SUB# Soma defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Spence's arms. Soma is taking damage to the body and head. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.#SUB# Spence working for a choke but Soma is defending well. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.#SUB# Spence has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spence keeping moving, preventing Soma from controlling successfully. Soma is looking to advance position but Spence has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!#REVR# We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Soma is bucking up trying to escape but Spence cracks him with another couple of good strikes.#SUB# Spence looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Soma is desperately trying to improve his position but Spence has a good base and remains in mount.#T1# Soma is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Spence looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Soma is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Spence has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.#SUB# Spence is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Spence!
