Smith misses with a takedown attempt and Rooster counters with a lovely shot to the body.#KD# Rooster sends Smith crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Rooster is motioning to the referee to let Smith up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!#CUT# It looks like Jake Smith has been cut. Rooster displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Smith. #KD# Rooster lands a big uppercut and Smith crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Smith looks OK. Rooster waves Smith back to his feet!#ROC# Smith is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Smith tries to grapple but his opponent circles letting Rooster counter with a right hand. #TD2# Smith ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Smith no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Mckenzie preventing the sweep. Smith is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Mckenzie lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.#ES2# Smith has his feet on Mckenzie's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Mckenzie avoids the head kick by Smith.

Verovic lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. #TD# Smith pulls guard effortlessly. Verovic throwing strikes from guard but Smith blocks nicely. Verovic throwing strikes but missing. Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back. Verovic working some strikes from top position. Smith is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVR##SUB# Smith is looking for a kimura but Verovic is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Smith to get the leverage. Smith eats them both and turns towards Burgess to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.#CUT2# It looks like Jake Smith has been cut. Burgess lands a head shot. Burgess has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Burgess throws a quick inside leg kick. #CL# The fight moves into the clinch position. Burgess wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.#TD2# Burgess jumps guard.

Smith is in close to Stephenson's body, working some short punches and elbows. Smith is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Smith trying to control but Stephenson is working from the bottom. Stephenson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Smith showing good wrestling skills to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#T1# It looks like Smith might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Stephenson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground. Stephenson pushes Smith off looking to stand but Smith dives back in and keeps control.
