#R1# Aguirre fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Morton checks it well. #TD2# Aguirre gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Morton to score an easy takedown into full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Morton wants to control from the top but Aguirre keeps moving. Morton's corner is telling him to maintain position. Aguirre wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Morton trying to control the position from guard on top but Aguirre is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Morton might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Aguirre haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.#T1# Aguirre keeping full guard, as Morton tries to pass. Morton keeps the fight on the outside. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Aguirre.
Morton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Aguirre's waist but Aguirre gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Morton off to one side. Aguirre walks forward, straight into a front kick from Morton. Aguirre throws a sloppy head kick and Morton counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.#T2# Aguirre tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Morton drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Jerrold Aguirre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jackson Morton. Aguirre jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Morton walks away with a smile on his face. Aguirre gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Aguirre throws a sloppy head kick and Morton moves out of range easily. A nice side step and Morton releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Aguirre avoids the head kick by Morton.

Aguirre will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Morton up against the cage. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Morton connects with a nice short shot to Aguirre's temple.
