#R1# Nishida swings for the body but Chartier moves out of range.
Chartier swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. A left lands for Chartier. Nishida throws a combination that misses and Chartier counters with a lovely straight right hand!#CUT# It looks like Shouma Nishida has been cut. Chartier connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Chartier works Nishida's body with a nice hook. Nishida catches Chartier with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Chartier misses with an uppercut. Chartier has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Roosters Coop in the buildup to the fight. Nishida tries a head kick but it misses.
Chartier half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. The fight stays on the outside here - Nishida looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Nishida throws a body shot but no joy. Nishida throws a series of punches but Chartier avoids them all with ease. Chartier lands the left hand. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nishida gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Chartier gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Donald Chartier!

#R1##TD2# Lei gets a takedown into half guard. Lei stops Nishida from getting back to his feet.
Nishida tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Lei manages to move to mount!
You get the feeling that Nishida really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Lei is in the full mount, landing strikes. #SUB2# Lei looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.#SUB2# Lei working for a submission but Nishida is keeping him at bay. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lei controlling from the full mount. Lei working the ground and pound effectively.
#CUT2# It looks like Shouma Nishida has been cut.#SU2# Lei stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Nishida dips to his left and cracks Lei with an uppercut!#T1# Lei takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Nishida darts in trying to clinch#TD2# and Lei counters with a shoot takedown. Nishida fights it but they end up in guard. Nishida is looking to stand back up but Lei counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Nishida. #REVR# Lei scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Nishida knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lei on the ground. Nishida is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lei's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lei's back! Lei tries to break free.
Nishida is trying to stick to Lei's back but Lei is turning into Nishida. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Nishida's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Lei. Lei has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!#SUB2# Lei is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Lei postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Nishida covers up, he's hurt! Lei keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Lei and the ref steps in to end the fight! Lei can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
