Cardiff looking to control.
Cardiff wants to sweep but no luck. Cardiff keeps trying to improve his position. Karjalainen throws a big elbow that misses. Cardiff trying to control the position.
Karjalainen preventing the sweep. Karjalainen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cardiff works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cardiff tries to land a sweep but no joy. Karjalainen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Cardiff controls Karjalainen momentarily but Karjalainen frees himself. Karjalainen working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Karjalainen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cardiff manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Karjalainen manages to get himself to full guard.

Cardiff postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Cardiff pushing down on Karjalainen's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Cardiff lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Cardiff looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Cardiff is looking to take a break and control but Karjalainen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Karjalainen is trying to stand back up but Cardiff is controlling him
Cardiff lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Karjalainen quite badly. Karjalainen pulls Cardiff in close trying to recover. Cardiff postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Karjalainen on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Karjalainen doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

#R1##CL2# Cardiff closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. #TD2# Cardiff has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Dirt regains guard immediately. Dirt preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cardiff trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Cardiff preventing the sweep. Cardiff has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Dirt is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dirt being controlled here, momentarily. Cardiff wants to control from the top but Dirt keeps moving. Cardiff looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Dirt controls from within his opponent's guard. #T2# The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Dirt looking to pass the guard. Cardiff looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dirt is one step ahead there. Dirt trying to control but Cardiff is working from the bottom. #REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.#CL# Dirt pushes Cardiff up against the cage in a clinch. Cardiff struggles to land a body shot inside as Dirt controls his hands.
Dirt is trying to force a seperation but Cardiff has the dominant position. Dirt is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Cardiff throws a punch but it's blocked by Dirt . #TD2# Cardiff is trying to trip Dirt . He has hold of a leg but Dirt is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Cardiff persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Dirt is breathing heavily.#T3# The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Dirt keeping moving, preventing Cardiff from controlling successfully. #SUB# Dirt had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cardiff defends it easily. Dirt is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dirt manages to kick Cardiff off! Cardiff jumps back into Dirt 's guard. Cardiff content to stall in guard here. Cardiff postures up.

Cardiff stands and throws Dirt 's legs to the side, diving into side control. Dirt is looking for a sweep. Cardiff looks up at the clock and then as Dirt takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Cardiff smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Cardiff cracks Dirt with a big right hand but Dirt just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Dirt gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Cardiff scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Dirt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cardiff on the ground. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dirt is squirming around, avoiding Cardiff's attempts to control the action. Cardiff landing shots from mount. Cardiff connects with a bit shot that sees Dirt covering up! More strikes from Cardiff and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Cardiff is our winner by TKO!

#R1##TD2# Cardiff shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Cardiff preventing the sweep. Cardiff would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Cardiff connects with a couple of short punches. Cardiff works a leg free and moves into half guard. Nixon on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Cardiff working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Cardiff wants to control but Nixon is keeping him busy. Cardiff might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Nixon haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Nixon tries to roll over but Cardiff keeps him under control. Cardiff is keen to just control but Nixon is a slippery customer. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cardiff scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Nixon really is a fat lump.#SUB2# Cardiff is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nixon is just riding it out for now. Cardiff eventually gives up the hold. Nixon moves into full guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cardiff lands a nice short elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cardiff is trying to control. Nixon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Cardiff scores with a big shot! Nixon's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Nixon! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
