Kunwar drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Van Bastet defends it well. Van Bastet throws a leg kick that is checked#TD2# and Kunwar counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Kunwar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Van Bastet keeps working. Kunwar wants to free his trapped foot but Van Bastet is holding on for dear life with his legs. #SUB2# Kunwar seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Van Bastet has recovered full guard. Kunwar wants to get up but he can't break Van Bastet's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. #SUB2# Kunwar thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. and Dmitriev counters with a nice body shot. Danga de danga de dang - Dmitriev scores with a four punch combination! Dmitriev steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Van Bastet. Dmitriev appears to be looking for a big counter. Van Bastet rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dmitriev moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Van Bastet misses with a low kick. Left hook, right uppercut from Dmitriev. Dmitriev scores with a push kick. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A shot to the body from Van Bastet misses and Dmitriev counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Van Bastet is lucky that one didn't land flush. Dmitriev lets loose with a powerful body kick. Van Bastet will feel that in the morning. Dmitriev throws a nice head kick!

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alexei Dmitriev. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dmitriev, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
