#R1# A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ford is defended easily by Conti. A decent looking body kick lands there for Conti.#TD2# Conti shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Ford is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at ~T~ Troid - Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Ford on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Ford wants to get back to full guard. Ford is staying active underneath Conti, who seems content to just control the action from this position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ground and pound from Conti. Ford is looking to improve his position.

It looked like Lukaszewicz was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Conti. We've been told by Lukaszewicz's head coaches at St Petersburg MMA Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Lukaszewicz just misses with a punch to the body.

Kanagawa has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Conti jabs. Kanagawa let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Kanagawa cracks Conti with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Conti blocks a jab. Conti lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
