#R1# Jacobs shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gonzalez but Gonzalez pushes him off and we're back to square one.#TD2# Jacobs fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gonzalez to the ground. Jacobs is now in Gonzalez's guard. Gonzalez keeping moving, preventing Jacobs from controlling successfully. #SUB2# Jacobs drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gonzalez looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gonzalez looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gonzalez! #REVR# We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gonzalez is looking to take a break and control but Jacobs is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gonzalez wants to stand but Jacobs has his arm trapped. #T1# Jacobs gets back to half guard. Gonzalez tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Gonzalez sitting and controlling from the half guard. Jacobs wants to get back to full guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jacobs can do anything to dispel that myth. Jacobs is refusing to be controlled, as Gonzalez sits in half guard. Gonzalez is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jacobs is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Jacobs looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.#T2# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. It looks like Gonzalez is going to stand back up.
Gonzalez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Gonzalez is thwarting Jacobs's attempts to control the position. Gonzalez is looking to advance position but Jacobs won't allow it. Jacobs is trying to get back to full guard. Gonzalez is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
#REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Gonzalez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jacobs was well out of range. Poor timing from Gonzalez. Jacobs is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Gonzalez lands with a shot to the body. Gonzalez misses with a double jab.

Gonzalez definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. A lazy left from Gonzalez finds it's target. Gonzalez jabs at Jacobs's body. Jacobs shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gonzalez as he jumps to the side. An attempted straight right counter from Gonzalez misses the target. Jacobs tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gonzalez swivels and escapes. Vigorio Gonzalez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karl Jacobs. Jacobs shoots for a takedown but Gonzalez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Gonzalez misses with a double jab.
Jacobs shoots in looking for a takedown. Gonzalez tries to sprawl out of it but Jacobs keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gonzalez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. #T4# Jacobs shoots in looking for a takedown but Gonzalez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jacobs's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Jacobs avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gonzalez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jacobs. Jacobs has his takedown stuffed and Gonzalez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Jacobs will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jacobs shoots in looking for a takedown but Gonzalez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jacobs's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gonzalez throws a leg kick #TD2# and Jacobs counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. #ES# Gonzalez has his feet on Jacobs's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. #TD2# Jacobs throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gonzalez was covering up waiting for the punch and Jacobs finishes the takedown easily into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vigorio Gonzalez dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! #R2# Gonzalez thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Jacobs if he has to take too many more of those.
Gonzalez falls off balance throwing a combination
#TD2# and Jacobs counters with a shoot takedown. Gonzalez fights it but they end up in guard. #SUB2# Jacobs has gone for a leg lock! Gonzalez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jacobs's guard.#REVR# Gonzalez wanted to stand there but Jacobs had control of the position. Gonzalez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jacobs on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Jacobs has his foot on Gonzalez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gonzalez works his way back into a safe position though. Gonzalez trying to control but Jacobs is working from the bottom. Gonzalez wants to stand and escape but instead Jacobs has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. #REVB##T1# Jacobs trying to control but Gonzalez is working from the bottom. Jacobs passes into half guard. #SUB2# Jacobs is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gonzalez sees it coming and defends easily.#SUB2# Jacobs is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gonzalez has managed to free his arm - good work. #SUB2# Jacobs is trying to work for a kimura but Gonzalez is defending well.
#T2##SUB2# Jacobs looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Gonzalez is positioning himself well to prevent Jacobs advancing to mount. Gonzalez wants to control but Jacobs is keeping busy and won't allow it. #T3##SUB2# Jacobs is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Gonzalez is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Karl Jacobs! A relieved looking Karl Jacobs thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
