#R1##TD2# A momentary lapse in concentration from Richards enables Velas to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Richards manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Richards wants to get back to his feet but Velas passes into half guard.
#REVR# Richards wants to get back to full guard but Velas has passed into side control. Richards is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Velas is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Richards tries to get back to half guard but can't. Richards is trying to reverse the position but instead Velas has taken his back - oops! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A bit of a pause in the action here. Antonio Velas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Velas has been the more effective fighter overall so far. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Velas. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Velas controlling the position well here. Richards rolled but Velas kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

#R1##KD# Velas sends Macdonald crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Velas is motioning to the referee to let Macdonald up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!#ROC# Macdonald is rocked!#CUT# It looks like Reece Macdonald has been cut.#TD2# Macdonald scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Macdonald is still in real trouble! Can Velas finish him? We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Velas tries to escape but Macdonald is in control. Macdonald fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Macdonald seems to have recovered his senses. Velas is trying to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#SUB2# Macdonald thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Macdonald is looking to take a break and control but Velas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.#T1##SUB2# Macdonald is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Velas knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. That was a close second round but I would say that Antonio Velas will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Reece Macdonald's cut. That's time! Back to the action! Macdonald seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Velas does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Macdonald might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Velas haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.#T4# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Well, if Macdonald is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
