#R1##CL2# Grimm instigates a clinch. Grimm tries a body shot but Everett blocks it.
#TD# Everett ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Everett no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Grimm missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Everett is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Grimm missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Grimm in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Everett utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Everett could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Everett preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Everett avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Everett trying to keep a closed guard but Grimm is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Everett is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Grimm throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Everett works some decent striking defense from the bottom. #T1# Grimm loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Grimm wants to stand but Everett has a closed guard, so he can't escape. #REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Grimm throws a good cross that connects.
Grimm lands a jab to Everett's midsection. Grimm throws a sloppy head kick and Everett moves out of range easily. #CL2# Grimm gets a clinch. #TD# Everett manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Grimm is looking to stand up but Everett won't let him. #T2# Grimm throws a strike but Everett rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. #REVR##SU# Everett gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Everett keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Grimm.#TD2# Everett gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Grimm to score an easy takedown into full guard. Grimm must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Everett is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVR# Grimm tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Everett manages to move to mount!
Everett landing strikes from the mount and Grimm is in trouble! #T3# Everett lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Grimm wants to hold on but Everett pushes him away. Grimm looks winded! Grimm is looking to get to half guard. Grimm wants to control but Everett is having none of it. Everett trying to control but Grimm is having none of it. Grimm is in a horrible position here. Everett smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
#T4# Everett looking to control but Grimm is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Everett landing strikes, looking to finish! Everett breaks from Grimm's wrist control and lands an elbow. Everett cracks Grimm with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Everett in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Everett working away from the top, dropping strikes. Everett lands a big elbow. #ROC# Grimm is rocked! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Everett dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. #R2# Look low, kick high! Everett uses the oldest trick in the book to send Grimm tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Everett is absolutely delighted - when Grimm wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
