It will also be interesting to see what tactics Venturo uses from the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Venturo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. #SUB# Ely working for a triangle but Venturo defends it easily.
Ely is trying to keep Venturo in close.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ely pulls Venturo in close to prevent any damage. #T1# Venturo wanted to stand there but Ely had control of the position. Ely trying to control the position here. Venturo controlling from the top position. #REF3# The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. Ely keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Venturo's efforts to push away. Ely dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ely is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Ely sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Venturo's guard. Venturo is trying to stand.
