Taylor tries to clinch up but Monteiro circles away and keeps his distance. Taylor uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Monteiro. Taylor lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
#CL2# Taylor moves into the clinch.#BC# Monteiro breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Taylor looks for a takedown but Monteiro sprawls well. Taylor shoots in looking for a takedown but Monteiro manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Taylor's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Monteiro fires out a quick counter leg kick but Taylor just manages to avoid it. Taylor throws a sloppy head kick and Monteiro moves out of range easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Taylor wants to clinch. Monteiro has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Taylor scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Monteiro rushes Taylor with punches - Taylor moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Taylor goes down! Monteiro follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

#R1# Taylor closes the distance and clinches up with Marciano, looking for a takedown. Taylor pushes Marciano against the cage but Marciano circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Taylor is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Taylor tries to clinch up. Taylor tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Marciano manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Taylor shoots for a takedown but Marciano saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Taylor swinging wildly here.
Marciano lands with a nice body kick. A shot to the liver by Marciano. Beautiful body shot. Taylor looks winded! Marciano connects with a body shot. Taylor walks forward, straight into a front kick from Marciano. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Marciano.
Taylor changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Marciano tries to avoid it but Taylor manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Marciano to the ground. Marciano escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Rocco Marciano has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Taylor.#KD# Marciano drops Taylor with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Taylor looks back up at him and smiles so Marciano waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
#CUT# It looks like Nick Taylor has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Marciano fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Taylor has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Marciano throws a leg kick which misses Taylor's front leg but catches the back leg as Taylor tries to avoid it. Marciano turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Taylor tries to close the distance and clinch up but Marciano swats him away and circles back towards the center. Marciano looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.#T1# Taylor fails in his attempt to clinch. Taylor lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Marciano circles away quickly and effectively. Marciano misses with a two punch combination.
Taylor tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Marciano counters with a nice body kick. Marciano dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Marciano lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Taylor head around and knocks him out cold! Marciano hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rocco Marciano! A very excited looking Rocco Marciano made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction. In defeat, Nick Taylor stepped up to the mic, saying 'Everybody gets beat sooner or later'.

A short uppercut from Ochrymiuk. #BC# Taylor pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ochrymiuk works Taylor's body with a nice hook. Ochrymiuk has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Taylor is landing a low percentage of strikes. Ochrymiuk swats away the attempt to clinch by Taylor. Taylor tries to clinch up but Ochrymiuk circles away and keeps his distance. And Ochrymiuk tries to counter it with a takedown but Taylor pushes his down on his head and steps out. Taylor tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ochrymiuk paws at him with a jab and circles away. Ochrymiuk fails miserably with a takedown attempt.#TD2# A momentary lapse in concentration from Taylor enables Ochrymiuk to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Taylor manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Ochrymiuk trying to control but Taylor is working from the bottom. Nick Taylor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Taylor lands with a right hand. The fight stays on the outside here - Taylor looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Marciano throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Taylor throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Marciano on the side of the head. A head kick from Marciano lands but Taylor takes it in his stride. Marciano on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Taylor. Taylor obviously looking to wear him down.
