#R1# Wertz throws a right and a left that Ward avoids nicely. Wertz drops his hands momentarily and Ward takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Ward misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
#TD2# Wertz bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.#ES# Ward throws Wertz to one side and escapes! Ward lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ward is looking to chop away at Wertz's legs. Ward scores with a hook. Ward connects with a right hand. Wertz shakes it off. Ward scores with a nice body kick.
Ward scores with a kick to the midsection. Ward throws a head kick that misses. Ward feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Wertz's calf. Ward scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Wertz looks winded! Ward throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. #T1# Wertz fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Ward throws a series of strikes that have Wertz backpedaling.
#CUT# It looks like Demarcus Wertz has been cut. Ward looks to land a combination. Wertz sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Ward.
Ward connects with a solid leg kick. Ward connects with a body shot that sends Wertz's belly button to the back. Micky Ward is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ward connects with a single shot there. Ward throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ward lands a big head kick that sends Wertz to the canvas! Ward follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
