Jackson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Hayes throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Nice jab there from Hayes. Hayes goes for a high kick. It partially lands.#ROC# Jackson is rocked!#CUT# It looks like Ben Jackson has been cut. Hayes lands a big uppercut and this one is all over! His foe lies motionless on the canvas - a massive one punch knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Samuel Hayes! Samuel Hayes decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

#R1# Jackson lands a right hook to the body.
Jackson motions for Hughs to come forward. Jackson throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Jackson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hughs finds it's way round the side to connect with Jackson's head. Hughs moves out of range of the body kick from Jackson.
Jackson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hughs circles away quickly and effectively. Jackson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jackson throws out a leg kick but Hughs moves out of range and Jackson only half commits. Hughs was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Hughs scores with a one two! Jackson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. #ROC# Jackson is rocked! Hughs changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jackson tries to avoid it but Hughs manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jackson to the ground. Jackson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jackson is still on wobbly legs! Can Hughs finish him? Hughs checks a leg kick. An attempted straight right counter from Hughs misses the target. Jackson throws a leg kick but Hughs checks it. Hughs changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Hughs tries to bum rush Jackson with a series of wild strikes but Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Ben Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jackson tries a head kick but it misses.
Jackson looks winded! Jackson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hughs fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hughs tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jackson blocks a head kick by Hughs.
Jackson seems to have recovered his senses. Hughs tries to land a leg kick but Jackson saw it coming and moves away.
Hughs throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Hughs seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Hughs throws a quick inside leg kick. Hughs keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Jackson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hughs was well out of range. Poor timing from Jackson. Hughs appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Hughs lands a head shot. Hughs keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Hughs digs a good body shot into Jackson's ribs. Jackson misses with a shot to the body and Hughs counters with a nice uppercut. Hughs tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hughs lands a big head kick that sends Jackson to the canvas! Hughs follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

#R1# Jackson leaves Mahrous with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jackson moves in looking to clinch but Mahrous pushes him off. Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch but Mahrous swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Jackson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Jackson is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Mahrous is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Abdul Mahrous seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jackson checks a leg kick. Jackson appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Jackson tries to clinch there but Mahrous circles away.
#CL# Jackson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mahrous, pushing him back against the cage. Mahrous avoiding damage as Jackson throws knees to the body.
Jackson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Mahrous is defending well for now. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. #T1# Mahrous engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. #SUB2# Mahrous is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Mahrous showing good wrestling skills to control the position. #SUB2# Jackson wants to improve his position here. There's a bit of a scramble and Mahrous has taken Jackson's back! He's locked on a rear naked choke here and Jackson has been forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Abdul Mahrous! A very excited looking Abdul Mahrous rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
