#R1##TD2# Paul drives through with a takedown into guard. Paul pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jackson is keeping the position for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Paul is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.#SUB2# Paul drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Paul jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Paul slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Paul sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jackson's guard. Paul looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Paul trying to control from half guard but Jackson is working away. Jackson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Paul on the ground.#T1# Paul is controlling the pace.

Nice strikes from Paul there. #T2# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Paul uses his free foot to push down on Jackson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jackson. #SUB2# Paul looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. #SUB2# Paul looking for a guillotine from mount but Jackson is having none of it. Paul throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.#T3# Paul postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jackson looks a forlorn figure.
Paul can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jackson is looking to escape. Paul thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jackson tries to get out of the position. #SUB2# Paul working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Jackson turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Paul off and cradles Jackson's limp body as Paul celebrates with his corner.

#R1# A solid leg kick lands there for Jackson.
Jackson lands a body shot.
Jackson connects with a right hand. Shalyapin shakes it off.#CUT# It looks like Gavriil Shalyapin has been cut. Jackson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Shalyapin. Shalyapin circles away out of range and recomposes himself.#ROC# Shalyapin is rocked! Jackson misses with a few strikes there.
Shalyapin throws a big counter head kick but Jackson avoids it with no problem. Shalyapin checks the leg kick nicely there.
Shalyapin raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. A low kick from Jackson is predictable there and Shalyapin counters with a straight right hand. Shalyapin moves out of range of the strikes. Jackson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Shalyapin checks a leg kick. A swing and a miss from Jackson. Shalyapin looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Jackson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Jackson attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Shalyapin changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Jackson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Shalyapin.

We've been told by Jackson's head coaches at Roosters Coop that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Shalyapin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jackson misses with a double jab
and Shalyapin makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Shalyapin throws out a loose jab but Jackson uses good head movement to avoid it. Shalyapin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. #T2# Jackson throws a sloppy body shot
and Shalyapin counters with a nice body kick. A slow jab from Jackson misses its intended target. Jackson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.#KD# Jackson throws a left that rocks Shalyapin and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Jackson dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Shalyapin regain composure!
Shalyapin is still in real trouble! Can Jackson finish him? This has been an exciting period of action! Shalyapin is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Jackson has just dragged him back down to the mat. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.#SU# Jackson decides to take the fight back to the feet. Shalyapin walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Jackson swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!

#R1# Zalac fails with the takedown and Jackson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.#CUT# It looks like Ale Zalac has been cut. Zalac looks winded! Jackson lands with a right hand. Jackson closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Zalac out cold! Zalac corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
