#R1# Van Der Waals avoids a punch combination nicely.
Holly Shiet seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shiet misses with a series of wild punches.
#TD2# Van Der Waals shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Shiet is wriggling around but Van Der Waals manages to pass to half guard.
#REVR# Van Der Waals not doing much here.
It looks like Van Der Waals might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#T1##SUB2# Van Der Waals maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Shiet could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Van Der Waals has cracked it and Shiet is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Van Der Waals!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Maarten Van Der Waals!
